Apple Pie Bakery Café is located at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY on the east bank of the Hudson River, three miles north of Poughkeepsie, midway between New York City and Albany on US Route 9.
We’re approximately one-and-a-half hours from Albany and two hours from New York City, Hartford, CT, and Scranton, PA when traveling by car.
To provide you with a better experience and make payment easier, our campus has gone cashless. We do accept all major credit cards.

Visiting Us To Pick Up Some Treats?
Experience CIA with a Public Tour! You’re invited to go behind the scenes of CIA and get an inside look into our world of food with the CIA Experience—a public tasting, learning, and touring experience at our New York campus. Available Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at select times. Book your tour after your lunch or before your dinner reservation with us. The CIA Experience is approximately 90 minutes in length. Book a tour now.
Visiting the Café
Reservations are not available, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

During our morning hours there will be a self-service dining room for both take-out items and dining in. Dining room service will begin at 11 a.m., offering the hot lunch menu until closing.
Closures
Our students’ education is at the core of everything we do at CIA. To ensure they have the best educational experience possible, periodically, we must adjust our restaurants’ opening hours.

Tipping Policy
A key component of the education process at CIA is learning how to deliver outstanding service. Students at the Culinary Institute of America are not permitted to accept tips, in accordance with IRS regulations and the CIA Student Code of Conduct. We thank you for honoring the “no tipping” policy, and for giving our students the opportunity to serve you. However, we do include a 20% Student Support Surcharge on each check which is returned to our students through scholarships. Thank you for helping to support the educational mission of CIA.
